JamesSuckling.com November 22nd, 2018 – 94pts “Superb freshness and depth here. This has a ripe and concentrated array of rich red cherries with darker shades of fruit on the palate. The plushness and concentration interplay to good effect. Drink or hold.”

Wine Spectator, Web 2019 – 90pts “Dried meat and underbrush notes accent the ripe red fruit flavors. Sandalwood and spice elements come in on the finish, with hints of slate.”

Moderately full-bodied and suggesting a bit of heft in the nose that is borne out by its ample, fully ripe flavors, Wonderment’s is a rich, very well-filled Pinot Noir that argues with the notion that less is somehow more. Although not overdone, it is no delicate flower and delivers a wealth of sweetly oaked, black cherry fruit, and, if anxious drinkers will find its slight finishing coarseness to be largely made moot by service with food, we would prefer to give it another few years of age during which detail and complexity should come along with its smoothing.

Prince of Pinot
14.5% alc., 314 cases, $44. Released December 15, 2018. · Moderate garnet color in the glass. Engaging scents of black fruits, dark rose petal and toasty oak. Generously oaked upon opening, but much better oak integration when tasted the following day from a previously opened bottle. Mid weight flavors of blackest cherry, black raspberry, blackberry, toast and vanilla. Easily approachable with immersed tannins and an appealingly charming tone to the fruit. Score: 91
