Light red ruby in color. The 2014 vintage is very similar to the 2013 as it again has a delightful floral nose of lilacs and violets interlaced with red fruits and baking spices. Well structured and delicate on the palate. A red fruit core with undertones of soil and mushroom finishing with length, acidity and subtle tannings.
*RobertParker.com #227 – Oct 2016, 91pts “Also light-ruby in color (but then again, we’re talking Pinot Noir) is the 2014 Pinot Noir Dutton-Campbell from the cold, Green Valley sector of Russian River. This is from a larger vineyard and this particular Pinot is made from Dijon clones 777 as well as the Pommard selection. This is a slightly deeper, more structured style of Pinot Noir with notes of pomegranate, red and black cherries, dusty/loamy soil undertones, medium body and light tannin. It is a lovely, rich wine that should drink nicely for another 5-7 years.”
*PinotFile – October 30,2016, 91pts “This wine is currently sporting some oak swagger which should integrate further with time in bottle. Aromas of cherry, cranberry, cola and baking spices are heady. Elegantly composed and easy to like with mid weight flavors of cherry, raspberry, and oak spice. The tannins are buried, the spry acidity invigorates the wine and the raspberry coulis finish satisfies.”
*Zinfandel Chronicles – October 2016, 90pts “Light red in color. Almost translucent. 14.1% ABV. Seductive nose of red fruits, flowers and baking spices. Light body with medium acidity. Delicate and ethereal. Cherries, cranberries, cloves and spice on the palate. Very feminine in style. The finish lingers. Drink over the next 2-3 years.”
Wine Spectator – Web 2017, 88pts “Appealing for the delicate, understated mix of dusty earth, black cherry and subtle raspberry notes. Drinks clean and easy. Drink now”
