Dark violet in color bordering on black. The 2014 vintage of this half acre of dry farmed petite sirah again shows its power, density and tannic backbone via a mouthful of black and blue fruits. The wine is bright and vibrant with an endless finish. Another vintage enjoyed now or cellared to be enjoyed during the next decade.
Wine Enthusiast, February 2018 – 92pts “Aged in Burgundy oak barrels, this refined, balanced and ultimately delicious wine features strawberry-preserve flavors wrapped in toasty oak. Leather, cigar box and a bite of cedar add to its complex whole, its texture soft, fulsome and richly layered.”
Zinfandel Chronicles, November 2016 – 91pts “Violet almost inky in color. 14.1% ABV. Powerful nose of blue fruits, tar and iron. Medium to full bodied with medium acidity. Glass staining. Concentrated, dense and powerful. Blueberries, cocoa powder and charcoal on the palate. Substantial tannins on a very long finish.”
