The third Wonderment vintage of Dr. Stan’s Vineyard continues to impress. Ruby Red in color, the nose reveals red fruits of raspberries and cherry with a hint of spice. This is followed by the classic Dr. Stan subtle elegance along with a hint of toasted almonds surrounded by the notable earthly layers one has come to expect from this vineyard. The creamy and fleshy texture leads to a long balanced finish. Such as with the 2012 vintage this elegant and sophisticated wine will continue to take on weight in the bottle!
*eRobertParker.com #223 – March 2016, 89pts “The 2013 Pinot Noir Dr. Stan’s Vineyard, which comes from Dijon clone 115, …displays loads of black cherries, some underbrush and earth. It is spicy, medium-bodied, and overall an excellent Pinot Noir to drink now and over the next 5-6 years.”
*Zinfandel Chronicles – October 2015, 91pts “Red fruits, earth and dried flowers on the nose. Medium body with perfect acidity. Cherry, cranberry, mushrooms and cola on the palate. The wine finishes really strong. Super Carneros Pinot Noir”
*PinotFile – November 2015, 92pts “earthy, with aromas of cherry, cranberry and mulch, and mid weight flavors of darker cherries and berries complimented with notes of spice, earth and mushroom. The attack is substantial and carries over to a generous finish. A superb wine of impeccable balance that reflects Carneros terroir“
