A powerhouse of rich, peppery flavors and exotic spices, this classic old-vine zin is as good on its own as it is paired with a grilled rack of lamb or braised short ribs. Full, rich, black cherry fruit leaps from the glass and evokes memories of days gone by when the West was wild and wooly. These gnarly, head-pruned vines date back to a time gone by and represent the struggle between roots and rocks, vines and dirt, and sun and shadow. The vineyard is planted on a dried lake bed over 1400 feet above sea level.
